For close to two decades, the Brooklyn Volunteer Lawyers Project has been providing critical civil legal services to the neediest residents of Brooklyn, harnessing the powerful pro bono dedication of the private bar to ensure equal access to justice.
But we cannot do it alone.
This is a critical time to give generously to the VLP. Today’s harsh economic realities disproportionately affect the people the VLP serves, placing an enormous strain on our ongoing programs in family law, consumer law and elder law. The VLP has responded to the needs of the community, creating a comprehensive new program to assist indigent families caught in the wave of foreclosures decimating Brooklyn’s neighborhoods.
